Maine bettors hunting for betting offers and bonus codes will find a short list. Two mobile sportsbooks operate in the state, DraftKings and Caesars, and none of the brands offers.bet reviews is licensed there yet. What Maine bettors need instead is a clear account of how the market works and the rules that apply before signing up.

Maine was the last state in New England to take mobile sports bets, and it chose a narrow model. Online betting went live on November 3, 2023, and only the state’s tribes may hold mobile licenses.

None of the operators we review is licensed in Maine. FanDuel, Fanatics, bet365, BetRivers and Hard Rock Bet do not accept bets from the state, so we cannot list a welcome offer or promo code for any of them here.

The two licensed mobile sportsbooks are:

DraftKingsLicensed mobile operator
CaesarsLicensed mobile operator

Both run their own new-customer promotions, which we do not review. Check the operator’s terms in the app before you deposit.

Retail betting is also available at Oxford Casino.

We will add Maine offers when a brand we cover gains a license. In the meantime, if you travel to Massachusetts or another legal state, our state pages show what is live there. Offers depend on where you are when you bet, not where you live.

Why Maine Has So Few Sportsbooks

Maine’s law reserves mobile sports betting licenses for the state’s tribes. Each tribe can partner with an operator, and so far those partnerships have produced two apps. Other national brands have no route into the online market unless the tribes choose new partners.

That structure is different from neighboring Massachusetts, where seven mobile books compete. For Maine bettors it means fewer prices to compare and fewer welcome bonuses to collect.

The statute is precise about the limits. Only a federally recognized Indian tribe in Maine may apply for a mobile license, and each tribe may hold one. A licensee may contract with no more than one management services provider, which is the role DraftKings and Caesars fill. Licences cannot be sold or transferred, except to a Maine business the tribe wholly owns.

The terms were adjusted in 2024. Licences granted or renewed before September 1, 2024, ran for four years at a fee of $200,000. Those issued on or after that date last one year and cost $50,000.

It also means the market can change only through the tribes. A new partnership, rather than a new law, is the most direct way another brand could arrive. Until then, Maine bettors who want a wider choice of offers will find it only when they bet from another legal state.

What a Maine Welcome Bonus Should Look Like

Even with only two apps, it pays to read the terms before claiming anything. These are the five points we use to judge an offer in any state, weighted out of 100:

  • Value (30 points). What you can realistically collect on a modest first stake, not the headline maximum.
  • Bonus type (25 points). Credit paid win or lose beats credit tied to the result of a bet.
  • Wagering (20 points). Playthrough rules and minimum odds. Fewer conditions are better.
  • Accessibility (15 points). Minimum deposit and whether a promo code is needed.
  • Flexibility (10 points). How long the bonus lasts and how freely it can be used.

Apply the same test to any Maine offer. A large number with a short expiry and tight odds requirements may be worth less than a smaller, guaranteed credit.

Rules Worth Knowing Before You Bet in Maine

No bets on Maine college teams, at any stage. Maine prohibits wagers on any college event involving a Maine college team. That includes tournaments, so UMaine hockey futures are not available, even if the Black Bears reach the postseason.

The tournament exception is narrow. The law does allow bets on other games within a tournament that includes a Maine team, provided the Maine team is not playing in that particular game. Any game the Black Bears play stays off the board.

High school and youth sport is excluded. High school events, and events where most participants are under 18, are prohibited sports events under the statute.
