Nevada first legalized sports betting in 1949, with the growth in gambling leading to the development of one of the most famous cities in the world. Today, nearly all of the casinos in Las Vegas, and across the state, offer a retail sportsbook, with the first sports app launched in 2010 and around ten now available to choose from in Nevada.

The only gambling area that has lagged behind the online revolution in Vegas is, perhaps unsurprisingly, casinos, with a perceived fear of losing custom from the 400-plus land-based venues in the state sure to be playing a role. But as other states start legalizing online casinos, it remains to be seen how long Nevada will maintain its current position.
