Online Sports Betting in Nebraska
Though sports betting was legalized in Nebraska in 2021, the new laws don’t cover online sportsbooks. Currently, you’ll only be able to bet in person at Nebraska racetracks.
Any attempt to expand the laws to cover mobile and online betting probably won’t happen until 2024 at the earliest. However, some racetracks – such as Fonner Park in Grand Island – offer mobile horse race wagering through their own mobile apps. For now, NE sports bettors must cross the border into Iowa to log in to gambling accounts and place bets online.

Sportsbook Regulation in Nebraska
Sports betting in Nebraska is finally legal thanks to a bill passed in 2021. LB 561 was passed in May of that year, authorizing retail sportsbooks across the state at approved locations. The Nebraska Gaming Commission was also set up in 2021 to oversee the new wave of retail sportsbooks.
Eventually, gamblers in the Cornhusker State will have to make do with betting in person at retail sportsbooks. Not only that, but legalized brick ‘n mortar sportsbooks are consigned to Nebraskan racetracks.
