There are plans in place for several of the state casinos to offer sportsbooks in the future, with the only online app now run by DraftKings, the gambling giant taking over the role from Scoreboard Lottery. It is the second exclusive lottery agreement DraftKings has entered into after the deal it brokered in New Hampshire.

Oregon’s sport betting history is well established, one of four to be exempt from the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act, PASPA, that effectively banned US sports betting in 1992. The Oregon Lottery successfully offered NFL betting through a lottery game, Sports Action, only stopping in 2007 under pressure from the National Collegiate Athletic Association.

In-person sports betting is now open to anyone aged over 21 at Chinook Winds and at Mills Casino in North Bend, along with online availability.
