Sportsbook Regulation & Laws
Wyoming may not have casinos but it still pushed on with legalizing sports betting back in 2021. Gov. Mark Gordon signed HB 0133 – Online Sports Wagering – into law in April 2021, making it legal to bet on sports online and on mobile. Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) betting was legalized at the same time. In fact, the law goes even further and states that “[daily] fantasy sports contests are not gambling”.
All online sports betting is overseen by the Wyoming Gaming Commission. They are responsible for issuing licenses to potential operators. You must be 18 or over to bet on sports online or through a mobile app.
In addition, you must make sports bets within Wyoming borders. Wyoming sportsbooks use geolocation tools to verify your position. Plus, you won’t be able to make wagers on tribal land. This is an important caveat that makes WY sports betting law a little different from other US states.
Retail Sportsbooks List
Wyoming is rather unique in America in that it allows mobile and online sports betting but does not possess a single retail sportsbook. There are four tribal casinos in Wyoming, and it’s possible that one or all will open a retail sportsbook in the future. For now, tribal lands are exempt from offering sports betting.
- Shoshone Rose Casino & Hotel (Eastern Shoshone Tribe)
- Wind River Hotel & Casino (Northern Arapaho Tribe)
- Little Wind Casino (Northern Arapaho Tribe)
- Smoke Shop & Casino (Northern Arapaho Tribe)
